ALGIERS – Sunday, 16 July 2023 (APS) – Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and National Planning, Brahim Merad, will take part on Sunday in Nairobi (Kenya), as representative of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in the work of the 5th session of the biannual coordination meeting between the African Union (AU), the regional economic communities and the regional bodies, said the ministry in a statement.
Upon his arrival at Nairobi international airport, Merad was welcomed by the Kenyan authorities and representatives of the AU Commission, said the same source.
During the meeting, the Minister reiterated “Algeria’s commitment to achieving genuine political and economic integration on the African continent,” and also expressed “the commitment of the President of the Republic to help create favourable conditions for the implementation of the 2063 development agenda, including the effective implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the liberalization of its economy,” concluded the source.
