ALGIERS – Sunday, 22 May 2022 (APS) – Minister of National Education Abdelhakim Belabed reviewed Saturday, in Tunis, in the 26th General Conference of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALESCO), the activities and achievements of the educational sector in Algeria, the challenges it faces and the authorities’ wise policy to promote it, the ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

Belabed underlined, in his capacity as head of the National Commission of Education, Science and Culture (CNESC), the efforts made by Algeria as part of the implementation of the programme of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in order to “further generalize teaching to guarantee the chances of success to the greatest number of pupils within an educational system based on equal opportunities, quality and equity.”

In this respect, he broached the government’s action plan to implement the programme of the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at introducing deep pedagogical reforms, notably in the primary education, pointing out, amongst others, the revision of the programmes and the lightening of the weight of schoolbags.

He stressed the necessity of “developing the idea of digital solidarity in education among the countries of the Arab region through the exchange of experiences and expertise,” considering that “this initiative remains, more than ever, important with the use of information technology tools and connected platforms to ensure the continuity of the pedagogical operation.”
