ROME (Italy) – Thursday, 26 May 2022 (APS) – President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Thursday made a proposal, in Rome, to set up a submarine cable between Algeria and Italy, to supply Italy and a part of Europe with electric power.
“We have proposed to set up a submarine cable between Algeria and Italy, through which we would supply Italy and a part of Europe with electric power,” President Tebboune told a joint news conference with his Italian counterpart, Sergio Mattarella, following bilateral discussions at the presidential palace.
Regarding renewable energies, the head of State said the two countries had launched the production of solar panels in the province of Sidi Bel-Abbes, and other products by two Algerian and Italian companies.
