ALGIERS – Friday, 24 February 2023 (APS) – The president of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in a message marking the 67th anniversary of the creation of the General Union of Algerian Workers and the 52nd anniversary of the nationalisation of hydrocarbons on Thursday, reiterated the state’s commitment to building a strong and modern economy while preserving its social nature.

“Reiterating our support to workers, with whom the new Algeria is heading towards an era free from corruption, injustice and excesses of bureaucracy, corruption and nepotism, we express our constant commitment to the oath -made to our brave people- to mobilize the country’s potentialities as well its material and human resources and institutions to meet our strategic goals, on the top of which the building of a strong and modern economy,” President Tebboune wrote.

“An economy based on transparency and competition, which will release initiatives and ideas to create wealth and jobs while preserving the social nature of the State.”

In this respect, the head of State recalled the “unprecedented” measures and actions taken to preserve the social character of the State, and mainly the unemployment allowance and the wage raise.
