BEIJING – Thursday, 20 July 2023 (APS) – The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, met Thursday representatives of the national community established in China, as part of the state visit he has been making to this friendly country since last Monday.
During the meeting, President Tebboune listened to the concerns raised by various speakers, including students and businessmen living in China, before answering questions on a variety of subjects.
The President of the Republic described the results of his state visit to China as “very positive,” highlighting the “large and mutually beneficial” projects and agreements signed with China.
He added that the visit had “opened up investment prospects” between the two friendly countries.
In the same context, the two countries agreed to “intensify the exchange of student delegations” between the two countries, said the President of the Republic, affirming that the Chinese government had also agreed to “boost the tourist movement towards Algeria.”
He stressed that Algeria was “seeking to raise economic relations with China to the level of historically good political relations.”
President Tebboune added: “Algerian production is seriously beginning to evolve and meet needs, in the sense that Algerian products are now in demand on international markets.”
Reaffirming that the actions taken so far had been in the interests of the people, the President of the Republic said that Algeria “has now regained its position, particularly with the great powers and friendly countries”, recalling that it maintained good relations with China, Turkey, Russia and Qatar, as well as with friendly countries in Europe such as Italy and Portugal.
The President of the Republic also praised the “positive image” of the Algerian community in China, saying that this community is mainly made up of “elites with proven skills, as is also the case in several countries such as Turkey, Portugal and Russia.”
During the meeting, representatives of the Algerian community in China welcomed the results of the state visit made by the President of the Republic to this friendly country, emphasizing their “support” for President Tebboune’s approach to the country’s development.
